Never thought you'd see those words all together. I inherited a Docksta table from my very cool brother and it needed a bit of cleaning up. I picked up a couple of Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and wholla! the table is like new again. This may not be a light bulb moment to the rest of you, but I thought I would share. I cannot say what a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser actually is or whether someone will find out in 10 years that they cause cancer (I am pretty sure they are considered non-toxic), but man does it work.
Yea, those are the curtains that I have been meaning to sew for like weeks. No months. :P
PS. I have a new category called 'scrubby sponge'. That is what the boy sometimes calls me since I love to clean (Not!). So the 'scrubby sponge' category will pertain to all aspects of keeping our houses clean.
I used one of those Mr. Clean eraser things on the stained/shellacked side of my old door, and it took the shellac off. I didn't care. It looked better after I was finished with it.

I've had those magic erasers do some great things. However, I'm pretty sure they're not non-toxic. You might check out Kerflop's string of posts about the chemical burns her 5 year old got when she gave him a magic eraser for his chores.

Those Mr. Clean Magic Erasers are amazing! I just dicovered them last year and they have revolutionized my life - so great for getting scuff marks off of everything!

LOVE the new table and maybe that should just be a tablecloth as you've mentioned the curtains a couple times now and they are still FABRIC!! (But look who's talking?!!... quilt woman who only has a dozen rectangles cut out so far!) So I'm not by any means criticizing your slowness in sewing ;) I love Mr. Clean eraser. I have to-- I have children!!!

This fabric will make wonderful window coverings. Nice choice.

WHERE did you get the fabric for your curtains? I love it and I need something like that for my living room to change out for the Spring.
Mr. Clean is a lifesaver, as far as I'm concerned. The little boy I babysit drew IN BLUE MARKER on my cream colored wall. I didn't think anything would get it off and was preparing to paint when my friend recommended a Mr. Clean Eraser to me. Worked like magic! Now we keep a couple around. (But the markers are locked away when the child I babysit is here!!!)
